Frequently Asked Questions
General
Yes! NEF is meant for all Arrowmen and it’s a great way to bond with other OA members from your lodge & across New England. In fact, we offer a special discount to any youth that was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in Spring 2026, just select the “Spring 2026 Ordeal Induction (Youth) Delegate” ticket when you register.
We have programs designed specifically for you to see what the OA is all about and experience why NEF is the premier youth run event in New England. You’ll get a chance to meet the youth National Chief and National Vice Chief of the Order of the Arrow at our special New Arrowmen Luncheon and you’ll also get to meet others who have recently been inducted.
When you arrive at NEF, you will be given a paper program guide with details about every program at the event. Keep in eye open Section E19’s social media accounts for sneak peaks. There is an outline of the events on this webpage.
No, you can attend any training you’d like offered during Saturday.
Check-in opens at 5pm on Friday and concludes at 8:30pm. We will have staff ready to check in attendees until 11pm. If you are arriving after 8:30pm, please notify your lodge adviser. Please do not arrive before 5pm.
The last event of NEF is the annual election of next year’s Section Officers. That election is scheduled to conclude at 11:30am on Sunday. All pick up at NEF should be ready by this time. However, elections can go longer or shorter depending on the number of candidates and rounds of voting.
Section E19 is committed to ensuring that youth have access to our events regardless of financial means. If cost is preventing you from registering for NEF, please fill out a scholarship application by the deadline on May 5th!
We will have our Section Trading Post available all weekend. We offer Section E19 merchandise (like t-shirts, sweatshirts, and polos), items from each of our lodges, patches, belt buckles, and tons of other items. You can pre-order some of the items right during registration. We even have an online store where you can have it ship right to your house.
On top of that, on Saturday, we have our annual Patch and Memorabilia Auction where you can buy rare patches or old Scouting items.
Yes! We always plan to account for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, pork/beef-free, egg-free, nut-free, and soy-free options as part of our menu design. If you have additional requirements we will figure out how to accommodate those needs.
Please ensure your dietary restrictions are included into NOAERS. If we don’t know about your requirement, we can’t promise to be ready for your need.
Please email info@e19.oa-scouting.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Registration
If you have used NOAERS in the past to register for a national event like NOAC, NLS, or DYLC, you will login with the same credentials that you used then. If you forget your password, you can use the “Forgot Password” feature. If you have never used NOAERS before, you will need to make an account.
Unfortunately, no. NOAERS requires individual registration for each attendee under their own NOAERS account. You can use the same payment method for multiple registrations but each registration must be completed on its own.
This happens when the wrong Scouting America ID number is connected to your account. This commonly happens if someone has multiple ID numbers, or a parent entered their ID number when registering their child. You will need to enter in the correct membership ID number to proceed.
NOAERS reviews the youth protection expiration date and compares it to the event date. If your SYT expires between now and NEF, it will warn you. Your SYT will need to be recertified before NEF, or you will not be allowed to stay at the event. If this is not completed, you will not be able to attend and no refund will be provided. There are no exceptions.
NOAERS connects to the national database to confirm registration status. Anyone that does not have a valid Scouting America registration will not be permitted to stay on property for NEF and no refund will be issued. There are no exceptions.
If you believe that you do have a current Scouting America registration, please ensure the Scouting Member ID in NOAERS matches the Scouting Member ID that is current in your my.scouting.org profile. If my.scouting.org shows that you are currently registered. Please send a screenshot of your current registration card to registrar@e19.oa-scouting.org for review. We will confirm next steps.
If you do not have a current Scouting America registration, that must be rectified at least three days before the beginning of NEF. (Note: it takes a few days for national to process registrations, so doing so early will prevent issues. Additionally, some states take multiple weeks to process background checks, so even earlier will be better )
We see this commonly with Scouts that have recently turned 18. All 18 year olds in Scouting must complete an adult application and the requisite background checks to continue to attend Scouting events after turning 18. Please work with your unit leader to make sure this is done soon after your 18th birthday.
No, the discounted price for Spring 2026 inducted youth is sponsored through a specific program designed to get youth immediately active in the Order of the Arrow after their induction. As these funds are limited, the focus is on supporting youth attendance. Adults inducted this spring will select “Lodge Delegate” as their registration type.
Policies
Yes, all attendees (including day visitors) are required to complete their medical form through CampDocs with NOAERS. There are no exceptions. CampDocs us allow our medical staff to prepare for the needs of the event ahead of the event and confirm completion prior to arrival at NEF.
Paper medical forms will not be accepted and anyone without a medical form will not be permitted to stay at NEF.
To complete your medical form, do the following:
- Go to registration.oa-scouting.org
- Login to NOAERS with the same account you registered for NEF
- Under “My Events” select NEF
- Under “My Attendees for this Event” click your name
- On the sidebar, click “Event.” If you are on your phone, you may need to click the box with three horizontal lines to bring up this menu.
- Under “Health and Medical” click the CampDoc
- Complete your Medical Form Parts A and B
- Note: you do not need Part C (including the doctor’s signature)
- When completed, the “Health and Medical” will no longer be red and Status will say “Health Profile: 100% Complete”
The NEF Code of Conduct can be found here. Any attendee found not following the Code of Conduct can be dismissed from NEF.
Yes, swim tests will be offered by qualified staff and must be completed before any aquatic activities in camp.
Day visitor check-in begins at 7:30am in the Admin Building. You are able to participate in all Saturday programs including training, afternoon, program, the patch auction, and the Saturday Night Show. All day visitors must check out of camp by 11:30pm on Saturday.
Accommodations
No, we will be using the canvas tents in the campsite. You are welcome to bring your own tent if you would prefer.
The first full meal at NEF will be Saturday at breakfast. There will be the cracker barrel on Friday night at 9pm after the opening show that will service light snacks/appetizers. Attendees should plan to bring their own dinner or stop somewhere on their way to NEF. The last meal will be breakfast on Sunday morning.
